There is no other food that I love more than Mom’s chocolate sauce. I am mostly a savory over sweet person but nothing beats this. Mom’s chocolate sauce can be made on the stove top but the microwave is where it is at. This was a special treat for me growing up but now as a semi-adult (key word semi) this recipe is a little too easy. Of course it tastes delicious on vanilla ice cream but I love it over sliced bananas. Or both! Excuse me while I go dive my bare hands into the bowl above.
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 c. cocoa powder
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
4 tbsp. almond milk
1 tbsp. agave nectar
1/4 c. organic Earth Balance
1/2 tsp. vanilla
In a microwaveable bowl combine, sugar, cocoa and cinnamon.
Stir in milk and agave nectar. Mix well.
Microwave on high for 2 minutes or until simmering. Stir in Earth Balance until melted. Mix in vanilla.
It can be refrigerated up to 2 weeks.
